Where do modern Yiddish literature and culture fit in your classroom?

Like all great books, the most powerful works of modern Yiddish literature are windows into the experiences of others and mirrors that help us reflect on ourselves. This site is designed to support teachers who want to share this rich material with their students.

Reb Nakhman of Breslov's "The Loss of the Princess"
Haim Nahman Bialik's "In the City of Slaughter"
Amos Oz’s “Nomad and Viper”
Yehudah Leib Gordon’s “Awake, My People!”
Leah Goldberg’s “Tel Aviv 1935”
The Akedah in Israeli Poetry and Art
